The Nationwide Library of Medicine (NLM), the world’s major biomedical library and a ingredient of the Nationwide Institutes of Well being, is pleased to announce our 2020-2021 course of Associate Fellows.

Amanda J. Wilson, Main, Office of Engagement and Schooling, mentioned about the incoming Associate Fellows, “We’re fired up to welcome the 2020-2021 Associate Fellows who arrive at a time when the NLM is strategically connecting its research, and the research of NIH, to handle the community overall health problems that encounter us currently. We’re seeking ahead to our new colleagues becoming a member of us in our mission.”

Dianne Babski, Performing Associate Director for Library Functions commented that, “We assume to see these early job librarians to actively engage in the NLM concentration on data science from data management to data visualization from open academic methods to data sharing guidelines. The 2020-2021 Associate Fellows will have a one of a kind option to learn and craft our collective long term.”

The Associate Fellowship Method is a residency fellowship at NLM on the campus of the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. Brianna Chatmon

Brianna Chatmon gained her MLIS at the College of Missouri in 2020. Although obtaining her degree, Chatmon interned at the J. Otto Lottes Well being Sciences Library. During her internship she worked on several assignments to expand her professional community and develop a deeper information of medical librarianship. Chatmon helped create effortless observe alongside digital tutorials to guide overall health industry experts and medical students in their databases queries.  Chatmon also assisted with local community overall health outreach functions at regional and neighborhood conferences. Additionally, Chatmon, worked at Hugh Stephens library in which she helped coordinate month-to-month library programming and interactive exhibits and assisted with a stack routine maintenance challenge to downsize a three hundred,000-book selection digitally and bodily. Chatmon holds a BG in Liberal Arts and Science from the College of Kansas.

 

Allison Cruise

Allison Cruise gained her MLIS from the College of North Carolina at Greensboro in December 2019. Although completing her degree, she worked as an intern at the North Carolina Biotechnology Middle, engaging in data entry responsibilities, giving doc delivery companies and aiding research analysts and library visitors. Although at North Carolina Biotechnology Middle, she grew to become a total-time research affiliate, preserving a shopper databases, aiding with an embedded librarianship agreement and giving literature queries and other research assignments. She holds a BS in Psychology from the College of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

 

Levi Dolan

Levi Dolan gained his MLIS from the College of Missouri-Columbia in the Spring of 2020.  At MU, he was the graduate library assistant for the J. Otto Lottes Well being Sciences Library and a research assistant for the Nationwide Community of Libraries of Medicine.  During his time in library university, he also worked as a library supervisor and tutor at Stephens College or university in Columbia, MO.  For his practicum, he was a instructing assistant and co-challenge supervisor for a Library Carpentries workshop held in St. Louis, sponsored by the Missouri Hub of the Electronic General public Library of America.  He was elected president of MU’s ALA University student Chapter for 2018-2019, and served on the College Libraries University student Advisory Committee.  He holds a BTh in Theology from Ozark Christian College or university.

 

Amanda Sawyer

Amanda Sawyer will graduate with her MLIS from the College of Pittsburgh in August 2020. Sawyer has a qualifications in archives and digital companies in each museums and libraries. She has worked as the Electronic Tasks Assistant at Gumberg Library, Duquesne College because 2018 in which she contributes to data investigation and visualization assignments, manages digital collections and assists with university’s institutional repository, and presents reference companies. Sawyer holds a BA in Heritage, Music, and Chinese and an MA in Museum Scientific tests from Baylor College.
