As I wrote in my book The Very good Woman Stripped Bare, this is otherwise acknowledged as ‘bullshit’. Ladies are not predisposed to clawing every other’s eyes out.

But our 15-12 months-old daughter Gracie has put in significantly of her life marinating in stereotypes perpetuated by the mass media. For that reason, she’s motivated by the narrative that females the natural way tear every other down.
Her perspective commenced to alter this 7 days when a strong new woman pressure, in the form of Brittany Higgins and Grace Tame, dealt with the National Press Club. Both equally 26 yrs previous, and born just months apart, their agency friendship is a pleasure to behold.

When I labored with a team of gals to grow WiM nationally, several naysayers claimed the mentoring method would hardly ever perform. “Women despise other gals,” just one male colleague mentioned. “It’s the shortage mentality: there are not enough jobs.”
Fortuitously, he was wrong. To this day, WiM has overseen hundreds of mentoring matchups, as ladies guidebook, nurture and lift each and every other up.
Now, I have worked in some fairly robust environments above the past 35 a long time. Some folks can be awful. But this occurs regardless of gender.
It is time to end this counterproductive narrative, and broaden the discussion all-around ‘sisterhood’.
In her speech, Higgins spoke about the need to have to deal with the horrifically substantial charges of sexual abuse of females in marginalised communities.

As Tame claimed in her speech, “What is the issue of life if not to hook up, to connect truthfully and openly with one particular one more in the pursuit of development with no matter what implies feasible.”
